Fiona™ is a Hormonal Intrauterine System with an applicator that consists of a frame with a drug reservoir containing 52 mg of the levonorgestrel (LNG) hormone. It releases a daily dose of 20µg of LNG into the uterine cavity. The reservoir is encased in a rate-limiting membrane that controls the release kinetics of the hormone such that the recommended dose is released daily up to 5 years.
